We Filipinos are naturally animal-friendly. We are fond of caring for them and nurturing them from a young age. We even have various interests in animals, some are fond of dogs, some are fascinated with cats, while others love to go exotic and challenging. Whatever type of pets we have, one thing’s for sure—we treat them as family.
Kristianne Alquisola, a proud fur mom of a Scottish Fold cat, knows this too well. She claims that pets often take our minds off the things that stress us out, just like how her cat Whisky relieves her from the worries that the quarantine brings. Living alone at her condo in Manila, she’s very grateful to have her cat’s company. “Whisky really became my stress reliever, especially that I’m living alone. I’ve got no one else to talk to or to play with but Whisky. I treat him as my own child,” the 38-year-old shared.
Whisky has helped her cope with quarantine adjustments. As a casino manager, whose office operations aren’t back on track yet, she has no other choice but to stay home and use up her savings to survive. “Savings is very important. Every tomorrow is uncertain, and everything is merely temporary. I learned a lot of things from this pandemic,” said Kristianne.
Kristianne is greatly thankful that Suntrust Adriatico Gardens is a pet-friendly community. Aside from the fact that she gets to foster a pet like Whisky, she also gets to bond and talk to other pet owners inside the neighborhood, learning more things about her pet.
“Unlike other condominium communities, Adriatico Gardens is pet-friendly. It’s the main reason why I chose this as my home. Other communities do not allow pets inside units,” she explained.
Aside from being pet-friendly, she’s also grateful for the community’s management for prioritizing their safety. She chose to live in the neighborhood for many other reasons but during today’s challenges, she realizes that a good community is actually a bonus she never expected.
“The admin staff and security personnel are always there to remind us to wear masks. They clean the surroundings from time to time, disinfect entrances, and put alcohol dispensers in strategic locations. You can really feel that they care for your safety,” she shared.
Kristianne salutes all the community’s frontliners who face the dangers of COVID19 everyday. She commends them and their efficient efforts. She also admires their courtesy as they greet the residents everywhere.
“It makes me glad to think I’m going home to a place where people respect each other,” the satisfied unit owner added.
